Where can acupuncture help?

Due to the special competence and experience of our experts and the targeted use of innovative technologies, we can offer individually tailored treatments based on the current state of the at and the specific needs of patients.

What types of treatment
are available?
In addition to the traditional acupuncture methods, the Centre for Integrative Medicine also employs modern, scientific acupuncture procedures, such as 12-point laser acupuncture and electroacupuncture, to enable lasting and effective treatment success.

Where is acupuncture especially useful?

The advantage of acupuncture is that it influences several levels of symptoms; that is, it can initiate a holistic healing process in the body and mind.

It is especially suitable for the treatment of

Migraines, headache and facial pain

Acupuncture and headache At the Centre for Integrative Medicine, acupuncture plays an important role in our multi-dimensional therapy plan for the treatment of headaches.
Acupuncture can reduce the strength and frequency of headaches.

Acupuncture for headache is recommended as a standard therapy by the German Headache and Migraine Society. Studies have shown that ten acupuncture sessions are at least as effective as one year of regular medicinal therapy.

Tip:
Through modern 12-point laser technology, our Centre can effectively treat especially pain-sensitive patients and children alike.

Musculoskeletal system pain

For ages, spinal and joint pains have been the main areas of application for acupuncture.
In combination with manual techniques such as tui na and osteopathy, the effectiveness of treatment can be increased. Here, acupuncture treatment is primarily directed at pain reduction and the release of blockages and congestion.

A study by the German health insurance companies established that acupuncture was three times more effective than conventional medicinal pain therapy in treating back and knee pain.

Allergies and respiratory diseases

Especially the newer, western acupuncture research has focused intensively on ear, nose and throat problems. Thus, today, acupuncture is considered to be an established method for allergies and respiratory diseases, as well as for chronic sinus infections, ear pain and tinnitus.

Acupuncture treatment can have an especially positive effect on the immune system, as it soothes mucous membranes and reduces irritation.

In this regard, we work closely together with orthomolecular medical therapies (vital substances medicine). The combination of both treatment methods enables permanent and sustainable success.

Gastrointestinal problems

Due to its regulatory effect, acupuncture is ideal for the treatment of chronic gastrointestinal diseases such as irritable bowel syndrome. The treatment not only stimulates gastrointestinal functioning, but also reduces pain and stress.

Studies show a considerable improvement of inflammatory symptoms and subjective sensation compared to conventional medicinal therapy. That is why we use acupuncture within our integrative therapy for chronic gastrointestinal problems as an effective alternative or supplementary therapy that causes few side effects.

Gynaecological and urological problems

Acupuncture is an especially gentle and conservative treatment method for gynaecological and urological problems. Upon request, you can also be treated at the Centre for Integrative Medicine using 12-point laser acupuncture, which is completely pain-free and non-invasive.

Common areas of application include:

  • difficulty in becoming pregnant (just as effective as in-vitro fertilization)
  • pregnancy discomfort such as nausea, insomnia, and anxiety
  • preparation for birth – shortening of the painful first stage of labour
  • irregular cycles, amenorrhoea (lack of menstruation)
  • menstruation pain
  • urinary and faecal incontinence
  • endometriosis (excessive growth of uteral mucous membrane outside the uterus)
  • mastopathy (benign changes in glandular breast tissue)
  • menopausal discomfort

Stress and weakness

Acupuncture has a regulatory effect on the vegetative nervous system, which controls vital functions and organs.
By testing saliva, it was found that, under acupuncture, the parasympathetic nervous system (“calming” nervous system) is strengthened and the level of the stress hormone cortisol is reduced. A fortified parasympathetic nervous system not only reduces stress and tension, but also makes us more efficient and even-tempered.

That is why symptoms such as nervous agitation, sleep disorders, weakness and even depression can be efficiently treated with acupuncture.

Dermatological problems

Acupuncture has always been employed for dermatological and aesthetic purposes. Western acupuncture research has led to the addition of modern procedures to supplement traditional applications of TCM. Improved methods, such as electroacupuncture, laser acupuncture and electrolipolysis are effective, gentle procedures to treat skin diseases and restore a youthful look to skin and body.

Especially favourable results can be achieved in the following areas:

  • skin diseases: acne, rosacea, psoriasis, vitiligo, atopic dermatitis, eczema
  • treatment of hyperhidrosis (extreme sweating)
