Our genetic material comes half from the mother and half from the father. In a paternity test, the genetic information of the child and the father is compared. Comparing the length of STRs (Short Tandem Repeats) is the method of choice according to the current state of knowledge. Several STRs are analyzed simultaneously and compare the ones of the father and the child. The paternity test provides a high level of information about the relationship (well over 99.99%). The result either confirms paternity by more than 99.9% or excludes paternity by 100%. 



With our paternity test (according to maternity test), the sample collection can be done comfortably from home. A swab of the inner cheek walls is sufficient. The sample material must not be touched by any other person from the time of collection to avoid contamination. Therefore, do not touch e.g. the swab, the thread or the cap.
