Antibody tests serve to detect antibodies in the case of a viral infection that has occurred. In antibody tests, the search is not for the virus itself, but for defense substances (antibodies) circulating in the blood.

Antibodies can be detected after illness with Covid-19 or in later phases of the illness or after vaccination. Studies suggest that antibodies can be detected approximately two to three weeks after infection.

All antibody tests can be supplemented upon request with an extended preventive examination and a micronutrient profile.

The blood sample for the antibody test is taken at the TRINICUM Center for Integrative Medicine and Pain Therapy at Schwarzenbergplatz 6 (entrance Zaunergasse 1-3, 1030 Vienna).

The antibody test makes sense

  • for infections that have existed for two weeks or have already resolved
  • to demonstrate immunity
  • to clarify unclear or asymptomatic infections

For the antibody test, a blood sample is taken, in which the Corona antibodies are subsequently searched for. If desired, important parameters of your health status, such as your vitamin levels and the condition of your immune system, can also be examined. You can also combine your antibody test with a preventive examination or book extended preventive medical laboratory tests to detect any immune deficiency in a timely manner.

The basic antibody test

The antibody basic test is classified as a so-called "mixed test," therefore the antibodies are not assigned any classification such as IgM or IgG. This testing method uses the established ELISA method.

The test result indicates whether antibodies were detected or not. Indirectly, conclusions can be drawn about neutralizing antibodies against SARS-Cov-2 viruses.

The blood sample for the antibody basic test is taken directly on-site at the TRINICUM Center for Integrative Medicine and Pain Therapy at Schwarzenbergplatz 6 (entrance Zaunergasse 1-3, 1030 Vienna).

Antibody Basic Test:

  • Detection method: ELISA
  • Additional modules: extended preventive examination and immune status assessment via a micronutrient profile available for an additional fee

Detection method ELISA

The antibody tests using the ELISA detection method are certified and validated antibody tests by the World Health Organization (WHO) following a coronavirus infection or a Covid-19 vaccination. This is not a so-called "rapid test," but an "ELISA test" evaluated by a certified laboratory. The detection in the sample occurs through an enzymatic color reaction. The intensity of the color reaction corresponds with the concentration of the antibodies.

The ELISA antibody test provides information on whether antibodies are present and how many were found, meaning how high their concentration and thus their protective effect is.

Test result and report delivery

Once the blood sample has been taken, the result of the antibody test is usually available within the next 5 to 7 business days, subject to technical faults. You will receive the test result from us via email.
