Covid-19 and influenza
PCR testing
Sore throat, dry cough, body aches, and fever are signs of a real flu. It is caused by Influenza viruses type A and B. Like Corona, Influenza is infectious and is transmitted through droplet infection.

The diagnostic detection of the Influenza viruses is done by means of PCR analysis. A deep nasal or throat swab is taken.
During the sampling at the Covid-19 Test Center, the Influenza analysis can be offered in combination with the Corona PCR analysis. A nasal or throat swab is sufficient for both evaluations. A gargle test is also available. Here, the sample is searched for specific virus RNA: Sars-CoV-2, Influenza type A, Influenza type B.

The PCR test is sensible
- To determine active infection: Do I have no illness, only Corona or Influenza, or do I have both illnesses.
- Preventive measures before visiting nursing homes or hospitals
- Monitoring in companies
The test is virus-specific. The positive result is considered secure. The PCR analysis is the gold standard in the analysis of DNA and RNA fragments. Therefore, the PCR test is recommended by the health authorities. The swab is taken at our City Test Center at Trinicum LAB in Zaunergasse 4 (1030 Vienna) under safe conditions and the highest hygienic standards. The subsequent evaluation of the sample is carried out by the in-house laboratory Trinicum LAB under the supervision of a specialist in laboratory medicine.

With each PCR analysis, you will receive a test certificate for the Covid-19 evaluation - (including EU QR code) for the Green Pass - and a separate one for the Influenza detection. The latter is not part of the Green Pass.
For an additional medical certificate with proof of identity, which is required for entry into certain countries (e.g. Japan), we will charge an additional 30 Euro.
Test results and report transmission
You will receive the test result from us by email. To increase the security of the test result, a second swab is recommended at least 24 hours apart.
The certificate of the PCR test will be issued by us in German and English. If necessary, we will also issue an official form for the country of Japan in addition to the Corona result, which is required for entry. This costs 30 Euro. Please have your passport ready for identification for the processing.

At Zaunergasse 4, to the right of the building door, there is a collection box. Test samples (paternity tests, Corona self-tests, occult tests) can be deposited there.
To ensure a timely evaluation of COVID-19 tests, the following drop-off times apply on weekdays from Monday to Friday:
- Drop-off from Monday to Friday until 13:30 - result on the same day
- Drop-off from Monday to Thursday after 13:30 - result on the next day
- Drop-off Friday after 13:30 or public holiday - result on the next working day
